Rebehair | How to Sew in Virgin Hair

Rebehair: Virgin hair is the hair extensions which have never been processed or treated, and that means the donors have never in their lifetime gone to a salon to get their hair curled or colored. A virgin hair also comes from a single donor, which means that all the hairs just run in the same direction and tangle-fee. Brazilian, Peruvian, Indian and Malaysian hair are all a form of Virgin hair. The hair is 100% natural and the cuticles are kept intact and free of any damage. The hair usually comes from the specific country it is named after. According to the different usage, we can divide the virgin hair into hair weaves, wigs and lace closure, etc. And the hair weaves can be sew-in, glued-in and clipped-in. This passage will focus on the method to apply the sew-in virgin hair.

Sew In Hair Extensions

Before sewing in virgin hair, you need to prepare a comb, a pair of scissors and a flat iron besides the virgin hair set which concludes hair extensions, a weaving cap, ‘J’ or ‘C’ shape sewing needle with thread whose color is similar to your hair color.

First, comb and braid your hair each of whose thickness should be 0.5 to 1 inch from front to back of your scalp or make a circle. Don’t braid your hair too thin, which will lead to too many braids and too much thickness can make your head look lumpy. Then, put the weaving cap over the braids and make all the hair braids underneath the cap. Take a strand of hair extension and put the weft on the back of the cap from ear to ear to measure the length of track and cut the excess hair with scissors. Then, have another strand in hand and thread the needle and tie a knot not to make the thread loose. Push the needle through the middle of the weft and one end of the extensions, pass the weaving cap and then pull out. Make sure the thread is tight so it won’t get loose so that the hair won’t fall off from the cap. Repeat this step until the whole strand is sewn in the cap. Tie a knot again and cut the excess thread. Find a place about 1/2 inch above the strand you just sewed and apply another strand into the cap. Remember to knot the end of each row to keep the track in the right place. Repeat to sew in hair strands till you reach ear level on your cap.

sew in hairWhen you finish the vertically sew-in hair extensions by reaching ear level, you can focus on the horizontal sewing that means you can sew rows in circle around your hair. Line the front of the first circle with the edge of the weaving cap. Sew full circles until you reach the top of your head but leave a small circle at the top whose diameter is about one inch. Take another wefted hair and cut it into 2 inches track and roll this track onto itself, then use the threaded needle to sew five times from left to right to keep the shape. This is aimed at closing the weave. Then, keep the top of the wefts facing downward and use a flat iron to flatten the closure. Put the closure into the circle left just now and sew it with needle and thread to secure and repeat around the entire circle to close the weave.

You can also change the length and color of the weave as you like after sewing.
